  • And the answer is.....

    THREE!
Three is the lie - you were ALL (except for you, Nickers - you are wise) wrong :>>

I DID meet Lionel Bart and I DO indeed purchase Christmas inflatables for my sister (she likes them - is not just me being weird)...

Soy was right to be suspicious though - I did have the cutouts, but they were all Marilyn ones.
Now I come to think of it though, Judy Garland is (or, at least, was) pretty hot ;)

Well done Nick - prize in the post ;)

  • One small lie...

...seeing as how everyone's doing it!

Two are true, one is not - can you guess?

    1. I once went in a lift with Lionel Bart (who wrote Oliver) - I was a bit star-struck.

    2. Every year for aaaages, for her birthday (which is in June), I have bought my sister one of those huge Christmas inflatables. Seasonal ;)

    3. Until I moved into my flat (more than two years ago now!), I had two giant cardboard cut-outs of Judy Garland, with whom I am mildly obsessed. I had to get rid of them when we moved due to space constraints - am still bitter now...

  • And this...

...is what we were doing last night :)

  • Gah...

There appear to be a mere 22 days until I am OLD...
This is a matter of some concern to me.
Will I have to be more adult, do you think?
I don't seem to have achieved very much thus far, either... Maybe is too late...

On a more pressing note - I need to make a birthday cake (or cakes) for my sister for Saturday.
I don't have a massive amount of time to do it in, as I have suddenly become horrendously busy (for the next couple of weeks), so it will have to be comparatively straightforward.
I have some (individually lettered) HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles, which I plan to utilise, but am not sure whether I want to put them all in one big cake or into 13 smaller cupcakes and I've got no idea what kind of thing to make?
Suggestions please (I'd like it to look birthdayish, but that's really all that matters)??

Also - do you think I want to be in a Jack the Ripper musical?
I don't know whether it's likely to be very good or not...

  • Jennie's Five

    1. What is the earliest memory you have of your father?

Not sure I can think of one really - my dad was always there when I was little :)
I grew up in a home where both my parents were musicians, so worked only evenings and when I was at school and rarely both at the same time, which means that I spent a lot of time with both of them. I still can't really imagine what it must be like to have parents that work (like the people I work with) all the time and only see their kids at the weekends.
    I was lucky :)

    2. Did your dad spoil you rotten when you were younger?

    I don't think so, no.
There are three of us and my dad is one of four, so I think there was a lot of awareness of not spoiling us and making sure we were all treated equally.

    3. What is dads favourite car?

No idea - he's not really into that stuff in a big way.

    4. Have you got a nice treat lined up for dad on Sunday?

    No :(
We've never really gone in for the Fathers' Day thing - I think that he'd be thrown if I suddenly did something. Might try to get parents here for tasty bbq tomorrow though.

    5. If given a choice, what sport would dad chose to go and watch??

Hmmm.... He quite likes watching cricket, but generally, I think he'd rather be doing things than watching them. We do lots of swimming and sailing and things :)

  • Last night...

I made strawberry jam (as fridge was full of on-the-turn strawberries)...

    Am domestic goddess :)

  • Thursday...

Pizza tonight - tasty nomulous pizza (possibly with asparagus):)
    And also wine :P
Preceded by the tasting of many other wines...
    Hurrah :)

  • Just in case....

... anyone was wondering what to get me for my birthday ;)
