Have been v bad Blogette recently - am v sorry...

Don't seem to have v much to say, and also is too heatsome to blog at the moment

Things ok though - we did take kitties to vet re breathing thing (see previous post) and he confirmed that they were, indeed, just too hot, due to combination of extreme sunniness, thick fur coats (v v thick in case of little Bandita) and a tendency towards fatness
Poor kitties - they were a lot happier yesterday with things being a wee bit cooler, but it seems to be hotting up again today, so I guess we'll have to keep on with the cooling measures...
Shadow is in disgrace also, as she made a small bid for freedom from the balcony yesterday - hopefully she's over it now, as the flat will be oh so very very hot if we can't have the balcony door open at least for some of the time! Guess we'll just have to keep her under heavy supervision until she sees the error of her ways

Other than that, not much going on - I'm having an annoying time at work at the moment and it's nearly month-end (again...) so the least said about that, the better and the rest of my life, inasmuch as such a thing exists, is uneventful...

I am planning to go and see Batman tonight (on a school night - worryingly risky ), which I'm looking forward to, but think that's about as exciting as it gets...

Ooh - and I have just obtained a tasty cold can of diet coke

Shadow is pretty much ok, though a bit lethargic, and loves to sunbathe, but poor little Bandita is a bit panty and short of breath - she seems a bit better now, but she's panicking a little bit, i think, which isn't really helping...

I just dumped her feets in a bowl of cold water though, which she hated (and I have the scratches to prove it), though she now seems a bit more perky

Hope they'll be ok - guess we might call the vet tomorrow if things don't improve..

Off to have bath and go to bed now - might take kitties into bath too

Have v v bad bloggirl recently - apologies (am sure you've all been crying your little hearts out )

Is partly because am busy busy bee at work at the moment - training new boy (still ) and covering a bit for boss who is away for three weeks (three weeks!!!!) and partly because I am very boring and have nothing to say

News for today is that biscuits (of previous post) turned out pretty well - in the end I made them plain with chocolate and other tasty things (but not cherries) on top - everyone at work likes them, at least

Ooh - and that I had a delicious Caramello Koala for my lunch - can highly recommend

Not much else happening though - what's everyone else up to?

Can't decide which cookies I should make...

The best ones, I think, are the nice lumpy bumpy types, but the whole point in making them is to use the 101 cookie cutters I got for my birthday, so will instead have to use rolling out type recipe...
Not sure which one though...

AND I have a further two days off for fun, frolics and the making of 101 cookies

Though we have to go home in a sec and tidy flat and pack for Paris (as we're off mighty early tomorrow)...

Might have to have takeaway too, to save time... Will be fat(ter) little piggy by next week

.... myself and LBF are going here for celebratory (slightly late birthday) dinner

It's a wee bit expensive, but is a very very cool place (I went there just before Christmas and it was utterly great)...

It's one of those places where you can have a million (or possibly 6 or 8) course 'tasting menu' and the food is all delightfully wacky (last time I had stilton icecream which is pretty fun and there's also cabaret style entertainment - last time there were trapeze artists, but think that tonight it's something a bit more musical and conventional.

The best thing about it when I was there previously, and the reason that I'm so very excited about it is that after dinner and during the entertainment, a girl came round all the tables with a big snake (a royal python, I think) which she was showing off to everyone and she let me hold him for aaaages
It was totally great
I'm going to be a little bit disappointed if, tonight, there isn't something at least almost as good as snake-snuggling...

Tomorrow we're going to the safari park though, so I guess I might be able to make up for it there

So poor LBF's flight from Iceland was a wee bit delayed last night... He was supposed to leave at about 4.30 (our time), arrive at Stansted at 7.30 and probably be home around 8.30 or 9, but, in fact, he ended up getting to flat around 5am this morning - poor boy!

So I had a pretty nice birthday evening without him - my parents came round for cake and champagne, I opened lots of lovely presents and then I went to bed...

Parents got me this which was extremely perceptive of them - am v excited about prospect of having tasty bbqs wherever I want

LBF's mum got me this, which was extremely clever of her, especially given that I don't remember having told anyone that I wanted it (not to mention the fact that it's not that easy to get here)...

AND LBF got me an iPod Touch, which is exactly what my life was missing
I unwrapped it at about 5.10 this morning and I am the happiest little girl in the Whole World

Am a bit sleepy today, though...

And I wish I could go home and play with all the toys now instead of all this silly working!

First of all - thankyou everyone for all your birthday greetings - I love you all

And now to the point...

LBF, who is returning from the iciness of Iceland today, just missed his check in time by about twenty minutes (not entirely his fault - there were some screw-ups with the hotel/bus etc)and they let him on the flight anyway!!

AND it's not even the first time this has happened!

Don't get me wrong - I'm glad he's going to make it back today and everything, but, honestly!!!! How is he ever expected to learn if this keeps happening to him? ?

The boy has a charmed life

I've just made 51 fairy cakes to take to work tomorrow...

And a sandwich cake for my parents' madrigal group on Tuesday

Am all caked out

I've just been listening to Dame Felicity Lott's desert island discs on the way back from the farmers' market (where, as always, I spent waaaaaay too much money...)

I can only hope that if ever when I am as big a star as she is, I shall still be so utterly normal and lovely

HAve just dropped LBF off at the station...

He's going to catch the Stansted Express and then hop on a plane to Iceland for a conference.
Am bit sad not to be accompanying him as I'd love to go to Iceland, but he's only going for a couple of days and it seems to be a very 'spensive place to stay, so wasn't really practical...

Will miss him though.
Just me and the kitties this weekend, I guess!

Still - we can spend it making cakes and sleeping, so I think things will probably be ok

Better do some washing up now, before my rehearsal this morning... Loooks a bit of a tip in here

I have a great big ouch in my legs

It's ok when I'm not doing anything, but as soon as I stand up, it's crippling...
A bit like a cross between post-exercise (ha - like I know anything about that ) muscle ache and cramp - and it's v local - only in calves...

I pretty much know what it is (though not why it has chosen to strike today...) and that careful application of bananas and orange juice will make it feel better, but I also know that even these things are likely to take till tomorrow to kick in if I have them now and theat I'm not going to do that anyway, because the orange juice machine on this floor hates me and I have a leg ouch, so am not going to another floor!

OK - moaning over...

Today is Monday.

And I am a happy Jennie because NewBoy started today
He spent the whole morning being inducted (I want to say induced but I have a hazy feeling that may carry weird medical connotations...) and doesn't yet have anything as useful as a login (though he DOES have a desk AND a PC, so it's not all bad) and I know that it's going to take him a while to get up to speed, but I'm just so pleased to have a full set of minions at last!
And I'm about to be officially announced in a supervisory/management type capacity as well, which is pretty exciting (though a wee bit scary).

Also (and this is the really good bit ) I have today ordered (from a fabulous online cake decoration shop) a whole load of little sugar animals so I can make colourful animal based cupcakes for my birthday!!

Life is good!

Am aaaalllllmost done with month-end now - hurrah

We have one more deadline at 5 (hopefully I don't have to really do anything for this one, more just make sure that minions have it covered...) and I do (sadly) have to work Saturday, but it's basically all downhill from here

Am still pretty busy though - my new team member (hurrah callooo caaaaalllllaaaaay!) isn't starting till next week and someone else is away today, so there's the usual mountain of things to do and I have to leave early (v v v early) as have call-back for the audition that I did earlier in the week (am v surprised - really didn't sing very well) at 5.45...
Honestly - who calls something like that at 5.45??? Do these people have no concept of 'normal working hours'??

So I'd better be getting on with it - just thought I'd check in and make sure Blogland was still running smooooooothly
