  • And the weekend begins...

So tomorrow I have to go to Wales...

Is my Granddad's (or, to give him his proper title - Gramps') birthday on Sunday, so me and my mum are going to visit, basically for lunch. I have a rehearsal tomorrow till 4.30, so we'll head off soon after and arrive just in time to go to bed ;)
The next day, we'll get up, hopefully go for a blow along the beach, go somewhere for a (hopefully) tasty lunch and then jump back into the car and come home again...
Is a long way just for lunch, but hopefully will be small fun.

To this end, I had to go and buy some shirts on my way home today for my Granny to give to him for his birthday, as she hasn't been able to get out to buy them - I got some serious bargains from TM Lewin, but am worried that they might have the wrong kind of checks - the description of what was required seemed a bit vague, but I'm afraid was probably, in fact, extremely specific and quite likely I'll have managed to screw it all up!
Is ok though - my shirt-buying incompetence might well detract somewhat from the fact that I am too fat and not married and/or pregnant yet ;)

In other news - made experimental chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in parma ham and accompanied by delicious seasonal vegetables - I should be on Masterchef!
Though I think that Greg and John might be distressed about the lack of sauce - will try to do better next time...

Have also made these (thankyou, Janeagain - they look delicious), cooked up some more rhubarb (which, sadly, looks like it's not going to last forever after all - there's only enough left after this batch for probably another pan or two - will have to buy more...) and am now absent mindedly watching Scrubs when I really should be in bed...
    JD has totally stupid hair.

    That is all for now.

    Goodnight all.

    Sleep tight :zz:

  • One for the small furry things enthusiasts among us...

Isn't she adorable - I kind of want one now...

She could live in the bath until I had time to build a river on the balcony :)

Though £15 worth of salmon every day sounds a bit daunting!

  • Rhubarb update

Oh my goodness, the rhubarb is tasty :)

Had a big splodge of it for breakfast with my porridge and a tiny drizzle (you only need a little bit - forced rhubarb is sweeter than the outdoor stuff) of maple syrup for added decadence - was most excellent :P

I also like the way that cooking rhubarb makes your pans all clean - not sure what's in it that has that effect, I guess the high acidity probably - hopefully it's doing the same to me and I now have a sparklingly clean digestive system!

Merry Wednesday everyone - hope things are all good today

  • Am excited...

...because today the 7kg of rhubarb I ordered from the rhubarb factory has arrived :)

  • Dear Blue Peter...

This is a lovely story and a welcome reminder about how important it is to encourage dreams and ambitions :)

  • Meme that everyone in the whole world has already done...

Do you ever get "good morning" texts from anyone?
Not often - I send them quite a lot, but the only person I'd be likely to get them from is LBF and he doesn't do mornings...

    Who last texted you?
    LBF - from 'merica.

What time did you go to sleep last night?
After 1 - much later than I meant to.

    What woke you up today?
    Hungry kitteh.

When was the last time you talked to your best friend?
Just before he left on Tuesday morning - we've had texting since then but no real chat...

What was your dream about last night?
    Not a clue.

Are you currently frustrated with a girl?
    Don't think so.

Are you currently frustrated with a boy?
Only Lazuli (a role I'm playing this term) and the frustration is far outweighed by the fact that I love him :>>

How is your hair right now?
    Fine, thankyou...

Do you prefer to call or text?
Text - I hate talking on the phone. I rarely answer mine - am a terrible call screener...

Last time you slept over at somebody's house?
Can't remember - this is incredibly rare - always has been. Quite likely staying with LBF's mum about two years ago.

    Are you a bad influence?
    Influenced - yes. Influence - no ;)

When was the last time you went shopping?
This morning, to the market to buy lovely vegetables :)

Did you laugh a lot at something today?
    Maybe kitties.

    What's bothering you right now?
    Only that I miss LBF - but he'll be home tomorrow :) :) :)

What were you doing last night at 11?
    Slobbing.

Who was the last person you took a picture with?
    Dunno - is rare...

Think back five months ago, were you single?
    No

Who can you blame for your bad mood today?
    I don't think I have one.

What do you prefer, Skittles or Starburst?
Opal Fruits - Om nom nom nom nom nom :P

    How was last night?
    'k thanks.

How do you feel right now?
    A bit flatulent :)

Do you think someone is thinking about you right now?
    Maybe.

Could you go the rest of your life without smoking a cigarette?
Yes - smoke the occasional 'herbal' cigarette, but not often.

    Are you a jealous person?
I don't think so - sometimes I wonder if I maybe should be a bit more.

Does it take a lot to make you cry?
No - if I don't cry in a movie, I don't feel like I've had the proper experience. In real life, am not quite so bad, I think.

Who was the last person you texted?
    LBF...

Have you ever read an entire book in one day?
    Frequently.

Think a lot before you sleep?
Not much any more - too tired too often.

Hold hands with anyone in the past 2 weeks?
    Probably.

    Ever dyed your hair?
Once or twice - has never been very successful though - hair too dark.

What's running through your mind right now?
Only these questions and a bit of X Men.

Do you have a friend of the opposite sex you can talk to?
    Yes :)

Are you someone who worries quite often?
I do worry, but am good at keeping things in perspective, mostly.

Have you ever kissed someone whose name started with a K?
    No - don't think so.

Is there anybody you wish you could be spending time with right now?
Yes - but he's back tomorrow and kitties are a good substitute.

What does the sixteenth text in your inbox say?
Is from LBF - says 'Bad stomach from some overzealous cajun spicing last night and still pondering exact content of talk, but basically in good form! How's your day going? I'm a bit concerned about poor neglected kittehs...'

Have you ever fallen asleep in someone's arms?
    Yes:zz:

Do you wish someone would call or text you right now?
No - wouldn't mind, but am ok.

Is your life anything like it was a year ago?
    Similar, I think.

Where will you be a year from now?
Most likely still here - hopefully still with job!

  • Forgot to make title before and now can't think of one

Settling down to baked black radish chips (experimental, but surprisingly tasty) with yesterday's tomato sauce and a crappy nice X-Men which I have found on the TV.

Am also contemplating whether it might be possible to make cranachan icecream for our post Burn's night Burn's night tomorrow...

Today I have made the bed, bought vegetables, made beetroot chocolate muffins and chilli jam (courtesy of the lovely Mr Doofus - and very good too), done mountains of washing and washing up and played with kitties.

Must remember to go to bed nice and early so that I can go and pick LBF up from airport tomorrow :)

Hope everyone has had nice weekend!

  • Meh...

Am accidently watching the Phantom of the Opera movie on TV while unpacking my shopping...

I fail to understand why you would make a film out of a musical and cast non-singers in every role (other than Carlotta, who is, frankly a surprise - is it really Minnie Driver's voice?)
They just about got away with it in Sweeney Todd, because the cast were good in so many other ways and because it looked pretty, but this, I just don't get - they've not even done anything with the production - it looks just like the show...

  • Friday (yay - it's Friday) Five

    1. What was your favourite childhood TV or radio programme?

Ooh - so many great things to choose from :)
I'm a big fan (still) of Knightmare - I can't believe they don't still make it - so creative!

    2. Did you have a favourite book as a child?

Again, probably loads of things - I was a pretty voracious reader when I was little (ah, how I wish I had time to do as much now...)
I learned to read on a joke book called the 'Ha Ha Bonk Book' and the first 'proper' book I ever read was Dracula (must have been an abridged version, I think) when I was about 6 - I couldn't sleep for weeks :)
Think I probably wasn't discriminating enough to have a favourite, though I was (and am) a big fan of all the Roald Dahl books - particularly 'Fantastic Mr Fox' (an oft overlooked masterpiece). I had an old, really battered (because I'd read it so often), copy that I took t the Puffin Book Bonanza on year for the man himself to sign. Everyone else was buying shiny new hardback copies of Matilda (I think) - I'm not sure he was that impressed, but he did sign it.
My sister's favourite was a book called 'Keep Your Mouth Closed Dear' about a little crocodile called Charles - I remember this because my parents used to have to read it to us every night for about three years ;)

    3. When playing which superhero were you?

    Not sure I ever was.
Batman is (and has always been) my favourite, though. I like him because he doesn't have any special powers (though, on reflection, being super-rich is probably a bit of an unfair advantage).

    4. Who was your best friend as a child?

At primary school, it was a girl who arrived in, what is now called, year 2. On her first day, she kept pinching me in the playground and wouldn't tell me her name.
After that, we were pretty much inseparable for the next 12 years :)

    5. Complete this sentence as though you were a child again. "When I grow up I want to be..."

I don't remember what I wanted to be then (probably something equestrian - I was, like most little girls, horse crazy)

However, now, when I grow up, I want to be a singer :)

  • My day has been immeasurably brightened...

... by the fact that I just saw the most beautiful rainbow outside the window...

It was fantastically bright - you could pick out all the colours and there was an inside-out secondary rainbow around the outside - so lovely :>>

Tried to take photo, but too difficult through the glass and stuff.

Has faded now, but I still have lots of residual happiness :D

  • Long Day...

    ... and am exhausted.

    Have just got home.

    Few brief things:

    - Cats are pissed off! They've been on their own since 7 this morning - have won back a little bit of love by feeding them, though.
    - Haggis is here - looks great - is huge. So if anyone fancies it, we're having a post Burns' night Burns' night on Monday.
    - Am making food and having bath.
    - See you all tomorrow :)

  • Meme before bed, from lots of people...

If you married the person you last texted, what would your last name be?
    Would be LBF's name :)

    Baths or showers?
I love showers, but mostly bath at the moment as our shower here isn't that great...

Are you getting engaged any time soon?
    Unlikely, I think.

    Last CD you played?
Dunno - probably L'Etoile, which I'm trying to learn some bits of - wasn't a real CD either - was an iTunes download.

Are you looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend?
    No thankyou.

    Public displays of affection?
I don't have a particular problem with them. In fact, if I'm in the right mood, they sometimes seem sweet to me :)

Last movie you saw in theaters?
Don't remember - wasn't very long ago though. Might possibly have been Tropic Thunder (not that great).

How many pills do you take a day?
Usually just a couple of very tiny ones in the morning (aspirin and pill pills) - lots of injections though!

Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?
    Not really.

What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
    Water - preferably fizzy.

    What is your favorite restaurant?
Variable... I'm a big fan of Mango Rooms in Camden, but I also love other places.

Name 3 emotions at this exact moment?
    Ennui, pining, kitty-loving...

    Favorite candy?
Hmm... Also varies quite a lot. I like jelly tots :P

What color shirt are you wearing?
White, but spiced up with a reddy-purple cardigan.

What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up?
Getting LBF to the airport in time.

Have you ever intentionally made someone jealous?
Maybe, but it would have been fairly subconscious.

What's something you're excited about right now?
    LBF coming home next week.

Do you spend a lot of time with your parents?
    Some.

Have you ever been in a long distance relationship?
Yes, but we live together now :D

    Next party you're going to?
    Dunno - maybe Burns' night?

Do you bump into someone's arm if you want to hold their hand?
    Don't think so.

Last time you were truly happy?
    Sunday, probably.

Do you flip your pillow to the cold side?
    Doesn't everyone?

Do you sleep with one leg out from under the covers?
If I'm too warm (quite often).

Do you want a small or big wedding?
    Small - not ostentatious.

What woke you up this morning?
    Alarm clock.

How many times have you eaten sushi?
    More than I could quantify.

    What made your day today?
    Kitties, when i got home.

What's something you are looking forward to in the near future?
LBF coming home, bed and my rehearsal tomorrow.

What are you gonna do after this?
    Shower and bed.

    Plans for this weekend?
Dunno - some things that I can't usually do when LBF is around, I guess.

What did you have for dinner?
    Roasted vegetables and stilton.

    What is bothering you now?
LBF is on a plane - I'll be happier when he's landed.

    Why are you at home?
    Am keeping the kittens company.

This time last January, were you single?
    No.

If you're being extremely quiet what does it mean?
Usually that I'm very angry or possibly not feeling well.

    What are you listening to?
Heston and the Little Chef people.

Are you a big fan of thunderstorms?
Yes - they're beautiful and I love the feeling of being safe and cosy inside with storms, rain and thunder beating down outside.

Would you ever live with any of your blog friends?
Maybe - if they'd have me, I guess.

Have you ever liked somebody and never told them?
Probably - ooh yes - LBF actually in the past, though he obviously knows now :)

    Are you a jealous person?
    I don't think so.

    Do you currently hate someone?
    No.

Where was your default pic taken?
    South Park.

Who are you most annoyed at right now?
Can't really think of anyone - oh - except whoever nicked, moved my package that got delivered today - am pretty upset about that.

Is there anyone you would do anything for?
    Yes - of course.

What do you think about when you are falling asleep?
Usually not much - am pretty tired at the moment.

Last time you painted your nails?
AT least a year or two ago - I really hate the sensation of wearing nail varnish, though I occasionally like the idea.

Do people ever think you're older/younger than you actually are?
No - they have done in the past, but I think I'm about right at the moment.

Have you ever liked someone way older than you?
    Not in a big way.

What was the last thing to make you laugh?
Almost certainly something silly at work.

Do you think men truly understand women?
Probably more than we'd like to let on - I'm certainly not that complex!

    Does the future scare you?
Occasionally - mostly, I'm looking forward to it.

    Are you happy right now?
    Generally - yes.

Do you clean when you're upset?
Sometimes. Possibly cleaning makes me upset ;) I'm embarrassed to say that we have a cleaner - she comes once a fortnight and I love her...

Do you usually tell people when they hurt your feelings?
No - though I'd tell LBF if he did, which is probably the most important thing.

What's on your mind right now?
The fact that I need to go to the loo ;)

Are you keeping a big secret right now?
    No - I'm not secretive.

Do you always answer your phone?
Not at all - I'm a terrible call screener.

    Is anyone overprotective over you?
I don't think so, exactly, though LBF can sometimes be a wee bit jealous...

What are you wearing on your feet?
Tights, and a big fluffy blanky that looks like a cow.

What do you think of people that do drugs?
Mostly I'm fairly non-judgemental I think. However, I'm not wild about people Im close to doing anthing serious.

Do you like it when someone calls you babe/baby?
Not much, unless it's someone pretty special and the right circumstance.

  • Tuesday...

So I think that whoever calculated that yesterday was the most depressing day of the year may have got their calculations a wee bit squiffy...
Today is definitely the one so far, for the following reasons:

    - I'm not a big fan of Tuesdays at the best of times (have previously expounded on this at length, so won't go into it now);
    - I had to go to work early today (and all this week) as my team are doing so-called 'Start of Day';
    - My LBF has gone away today - he's gone to the US for a conference and I'll not see him again for almost a week :'( ;
    - We have these vending cards at work - you load cash onto them and they can then be used in the chocolate/coke/other machines and also at the various canteens and coffee shops and things. This, in itself, is not a bad thing. However, today, I fed a £10 note into the machine and happily ate my cash, but didn't update my card;
    - Vending card woman seems to be out today;
    - Or she just doesn't work here any more;
    - Work is very bad today - systems playing up, people doing things wrong, lots of crises to sort out;
    - My phone didn't charge last night and now is almost out of batteries;
    - FEDEX were supposed to deliver a parcel to me yesterday (when someone was in all day). However, they tried to take it to the wrong flat number, so we didn't get it. They've redelivered today, but there's noone there (of course) so they've had to leave it outside the front door - it may or may not still be there when I get back. It's our Burns night haggis - I hope it's ok;
    - I 'borrowed' 80p from my piggy bank (he lives on my desk and looks after small change etc - he is pink) and used it to successfully credit my aforementioned vending card. It already had 20p on it, so that took me up to £1. I put the card into the coke machine and pressed the Diet Coke button. It took 50p off my card and I heard the can fall, but it didn't fall far enough for me to actually get it;
    - The above coke thing has happened to me before - the can gets stuck and the next person gets your can and theirs. On this basis, I pressed the Diet Coke button again. The final 50p disappeared from my card and the second can fell. Still not far enough;
    - I've now spent £11 today, and still have no delicious can of Diet Coke to show for it;
    - I am NOT happy.

  • Today....

...I have been mostly making ketchup...

As per my new (Christmas) Leon cookbook :)
It tastes smokily ketchuplicious, but isn't all that red. I guess that probably if I did in in the summer with really red tomatoes it might look redder.
Isn't in bottles yet, but will be soon.
    Am very excited about it.
If it goes well, I might make brown sauce next :P

Is making me want to plan my Christmas presents for next (this!!) year already.
This year, I made little jars of chutney, sweet chilli sauce, lemon curd and marron glaces for 5 or 6 people and bags of bikkits for all my (25 or so) family-type people. Next time, I plan to make a variety of bigger (lovely kilner) jars and bottles of tasty things (including aforementioned ketchup and brown sauce) for the extended family - will wrap them all without labels and will be like lucky dip :)

Now am making brownie (for work) and hoping that sardines will defrost in time for tea...

Hope you're all having nice end of weekend...

  • Jennie's Friday Five

    1. Margarine or butter?
I like butter occasionally, but usually go for the light spreads to stopmyself from becoming even more beached-whale like than usual :)
Buttercream icing (and some cookings) are better with butter, though cake baking etc is really best with margarine...

    2. Tesco or Asda?
I go to Sainsburys if I have to have any supermarket at all - I utterly hate Tescos. Quite like Asda, actually, but there aren't any anywhere near us, so I don't often get to go there.
Generally speaking, I try to steer clear of supermarkets - they use way too much packaging and food miles and are generally pretty unethical in the way that they're run.

    3. Night in or night out?
Am mostly an 'in' person, though I also sometimes like to be out...
Outness not so great for current ecenomy drive either ;)

    4. Cinema or DVD?
I have loads of DVDs and I love them, but whenever I go to the cinema, I remember that there's really nothing quite like it :>>

    5. Relaxing holiday or adventure holiday?
    Bit of both, preferably.
I hate holidays when I don't do anything - I feel like I'm wasting my time off, but I don't necessarily wanto to have every minute of the day filled - I also want time to read books and things.

  • Monday based Mondayness

So the weekend (which was nice and weekendy) is now over and we're back at work for another riveting week...

More upheaval here today - further job losses etc (actually they call them 'restructures' here - doesn't sound much more encouraging) though mainly at the management level - what they told us was actually that the people in question had 'decided to explore other opportunities' - just another Monday morning...

Also - I have a very sore foot today - I woke up with quite a major ouch in the heel of my right foot - walking is very painful... Am hoping things improve throughout the day - not sure what I can have done to deserve it.

Am going to cheering exhibition opening tonight though - it belongs to a friend who is just coming to the end of a residency at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn - should be nice - am quite excited to see lots of her things all together - is cool to see what it is that people have been working on all this time :)
If anyone fancies seeing (or buying) some lovely new art - get along to the Tricycle in the next month - should be really nice!

  • Quick End-of-weekend Meme from everyone...

    1. Have you ever been searched by the cops?

No - don't think so.

    2. Do you close your eyes on roller coasters?

No - what wold be the point in that?

    3. When is the last time you cried?

Fairly recently, I'm sure, though don't remember specific event - LBF thinks it might have been when I watched beautiful penguin animation on Boxing Day.

    4. Would you rather sleep with someone else, or alone?
With my LBF - not another someone...
Ooh - or with a kitteh or two ;)

No - or more accurately - who cares???

    6. Do you consider yourself creative?

    Averagely.

    7. Do you think O.J. killed his wife?

    No strong feelings.

    8. Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie?

Angelina - I think we all know how I feel about Angelina :P

    9. Do you stay friends with your ex's?

I don't have very many - only one really - not particularly in touch, but still friends in principle.
Would find it difficult if LBF became an ex though, I think - I might have too much invested in him...

    10. Do you know how to play poker?

I certainly used to - I expect I still do.

    11. Have you ever been awake for 48 hours straight?
Must have come pretty close occasionally - there was a time a year or so ago when we had a small crisis with someone staying with us - didn't get much sleep then...

    12. What's your favorite commercial?
Can it be an old one? If so - I'm pretty attached to that one with Ian Rush, the milk and Accrington Stanley :)

    13. What are you allergic to?
Bit of hayfever, nothing else, I think - unless you count the whole sugar/diabetes thing - that's a bit like an allergy ;)

    14. If you're driving in the middle of the night, and no one is around do you run red lights?

No - I think they mostly have cameras on in any case.

    15. Do you have a secret that no one knows but you?

Not a big one - can't think of anything anyway.

    16. Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees?
    Meh

    17. Have you ever been Ice Skating?

Frequently in a previous life.

    18. How often do you remember your dreams?
I don't dream very often - which probably means not very often.

    19. When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
Yesterday - in a fit of extreme silliness (LBF wants me to elaborate and say that it was whilst I was giving him the finger with both hands) :>>

    20. Can you name 5 songs by The Beatles?

Yes

    21. What's the one thing on your mind now?

This question...

    22. Name 5 things you did today?

- Washed up
    - Made and ate pizza on new Christmas pizza stone with shovel
    - Went to market
    - Sampled wines
    - Picked up new kitchen compost bin

    23. Do you always wear your seat belt?
Only when I'm in the car.

    24. What mobile service do you use?
    Vodafone.

    25. Do you like Sushi?

    So very very much :P

    26. Have you ever narrowly avoided a fatal accident?
Not as far as I know, but I might well have.

    27. What do you wear to bed?
Nuffin (or, last night, for a little while, my having-sex shoes)

    28. Been caught stealing?

Not only not been caught, but don't think I've ever actually done it...

    29. What shoe size do you have?
6 - oh so very average...

    30. Do you truly hate anyone?
    Don't think so.

    31. Classic Rock or Rap?

    Rock, rock, rock, rock :)

    32. If you could sleep with one famous person, who would it be?
Not sure I want celebrities to have nasty bodily fluids and stuff - perhaps Jessica Rabbit? She'd be pretty hygienic, I think :)

    33. Favorite Song?

Changes frequently - at the moment it's an aria that I'm learning for my opera class this term.

    34. Have you ever sang in front of the mirror?
My singing teacher (and all singing teachers) is very keen on this, so yes.

    35. What food do you find disgusting?

Things with pips - particularly lemon or grapefruit pips (though I like them when the pips are removed). Also small round foods (and non-foods, though not pertinent to the question) when seen individually, though not so bad collectively. I really don't like these things - they actually make me retch...

    36. Do you sing in the shower?

In the shower, at work, in the street.... So many places :)

    37. Did you ever play, "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours"?

I hope not in a mean way.

    39. Have you ever stood up for someone you hardly knew?

Yes.

    40. Have you anything else to add to this meme?

    Goodnight everyone

  • Jennie's Weekend

Yesterday I had my first post-Christmas singing lesson. Have had pretty sore throat (pharyngeal only, so not too serious - just sore) so had to take it a bit easy, but was good anyway.
Then went to lovely Mrs Kibble's Old Fashioned Sweet Shop (many tasty things in jars, sold in little bags) to buy chocolate high heels for my mum (I gave them to a friend for CHristmas and my mum saw them and wanted them for all her friends too - I bought all the ones they had in the shop) and some super super sour apples, cherries and lemons for LBF.
Was too cold for little car to start though (may have run down battery trying :'( ) so had to go on train, which was fine, but meant I went out without any gloves, scarf etc, so was v cold...

Today, I have washed up, made dough for pizza (yum yum - we're having pizza for tea today) and rubbed cream into LBF's back...

Now, when he's finished getting dressed, we're off to farmers' market to buy lots (if car works - only some if it doesn't) of delicious foods for the week and toppings for our pizza :)

Weekend is good so far - is v nice to have some days of no-work :>>

  • My Friday Five

    1. Is it time to change the name of the "mobile phone" as they are now more than just a phone?

I think that most people just call them 'mobiles' now... And, whilst mine is more than just a phone, I do still predominantly use it as one.
Of course, if I had a lovely iPhone, things would be different ;)

    2. Do you take your mobile phone on holiday with you?

Yes, though I mostly switch it off/forget to carry it round with me/run down the battery immediately so it is rarely of much use.

    3. If you phone runs out of battery life is it a mishap or the most worst thing that can happen... ever?!

Mostly just a mishap. It does make me feel a bit disconnected though...

    4. If they're not playing the latest chart topper then it's some other electronic rubbish so is it wrong to say "I'll give you a ring!" when phones don't actually ring these days?

    Mine rings :>>

    5. Complete this sentence "My mobile phone is..."

Handy, but not my whole life!

  • It's a beautiful day today...

... all blue skies and crispy coldness :)

The builders had left a hose on yesterday and there was a small lake on the road where I live. This morning, it had transformed into an ice rink...

My cheeks are still stinging from the outside.

I love this kind of day.

And am celebrating by coming in to work :'(

  • Friday Five - Wooohoooooooooo :)

    1. Any big plans for 2009?

Nothing massively life-changing, I don't think... Hopefully some big things (good big things only, please) will happen, but I've not really planned anything.

    2. Do you make new year resolutions?

Haven't done this year - at least, not publicly.

    3. Do you keep new year resolutions?

If I make them, I keep them - not much point otherwise ;)

    4. Do you think I'll keep this going?

    I hope so - I've missed it :>>

    5. Complete this sentence: "2009 will be the year I..."

    .... make my fortune?
    .... become a star?
.... give up my sensible job and follow my dreams?
    - probably none of the above - hopefully it will be a good one though :) -

  • Assorted Green Penguins of Life

Happy New Year all my lovely Blogfriends :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the first day of 2009... I basically am, but at the moment am all alone, as LBF is too sleepy and hungover to come out to play...

We had a pretty good time last night - instead of boycotting fun completely we has beautiful steaks and wine, followed by champagne at midnight :) Was nice...
Of course - I then went to bed, while LBF went for a 'quick drink' at the pub (from which he returned at about 7.30am) which might account for my aloneness today :)

I'm off to my parents' house in ten minutes or so to play boardgames and generally have New Year fun :)

Hope everyone else has nice day!
